Voroklini Village Council
The 'Symboulio'
The village hall and council offices of Voroklini are known locally as the 'Symboulio' and it is here that all manner of things can be dealt with. The main man is refered to as the 'Muhtar' and his role is similar to that of a British local MP and mayor roled into one!
Under the general umbrella of the 'Symboulio' comes the village post, water supply,affidavits, waste disposal ...to mention but a few matters.
Several times a year, the courtyard to the right of the building hosts various events, such as dance shows, plays and musical evenings

Bills
One of the main reasons to visit the Symboulio are to pay your water rates and your council tax. The water bills are usually every 3 months. Make sure you check your metre readings on a regular basis to make sure you have no leaks. If you do, you are resposible for fixing it and paying for the water if it is on your side of the metre.
The council or road tax as it is called here is for your rubbish disposal etc and is payable twice a year (an awful lot cheaper than in the UK!!!!) Make sure your bills are paid before the due date as a hefty 25% will be added.
