Voroklini Education Establishments

Ages 6-11 Years
Voroklini village, along with most villages in cyprus, has its own primary school (The Dimotiko Scholio Voroklini) for local children over the age of 6 years and 8 months. Lessons are conducted in the Greek language, with stong emphasis on the esssential subjects of Greek and Mathematics. Unlike the UK, the children are at school mornings only, but have a nice early start!

Ages 3-6 years
For the younger children of the village, Voroklini offers residents the choice of the state pre-school or one of two privately owned nurseries. All are excellent choices for your children and you can review them in detail by clicking on their respective logos further down this page.
Ages 11 and Over
Once children have reached 11 years and 8 months (and have succeeeded in graduating the Dimotiko!) they then procede to the next tier in the Cyprus education system. From 11 years and 8 months until 15 years and 8 months, children in Cyprus attend a general secondary education school (Gymnasium) where, as the name suggests, they receive a general secondary education in all subjects.

After this, they have the choice of proceding to the upper school (Lyseum) where they prepare to specialise in chosen subjects, or they can attend a technical/vocational school (Techniki Scholio).

The nearest secondary education establishment for Voroklini residents would be Livadia (mid-way between Voroklini and Larnaca). A school bus collects from Voroklini village for students wishing to attend this school .

Students who prefer to attend high school in Larnaca or wish to go to a vocational or private English school will need to travel to Larnaca.
